iPod Dock TDM-IP1 [US; Not HK]

Do you read blogs? It is a good practice to update with the world! Different with reading news, you can choose what topic you what to read. Also, more than newspaper or magazine, you can read the user opinions. Very valuable. (In fact, I would put most of time to read blog rather than newspaper.)
A blog called Engadget Chinese reported a news about our product, Digital Media Port iPod® Dock TDM-IP1. See the official information here (SonyStyle US).

Also see the compatible models , it is for BRAVIA Audio products. Not for LCD TV. US is not same as HK.

As you know, we have DAV-DZ150 launched recently. It builds-in DMP too. Our 1st DMP accessory is Wireless Rear Speaker Kit WAHT-S1. DMP is surely a good interface for feature enhancement, in my opinion.

If you are interested in Digital Media Port products, you can see the link here.

BRAVIA On-The-Go!!

*** It is not official message of Sony, even this site is not affiliated with Sony ***

One day, you can handcarry a BRAVIA everyday (Think about you handcarry a piece of BRAVIA and walk arround). See the report from CNet:
Sony Ericsson screens its Bravia TV-phone
19/01/2007
We've been feeling the Walkman and Cyber-shot love from Sony Ericsson phones. With the success of the mobile merger with its parent's music and photography lines, the handset manufacturer has been unstoppable. So we weren't too surprised when it announced that it was yanking yet another Sony brand for a mobile makeover. Meet the Bravia TV-phone, which uses a display based on the Bravia technology.

Scheduled for launch this June, the Japan-only SO903iTV offers a 3-inch widescreen with a slide function for horizontal TV viewing. There's also time-shift video recording for a more complete TV experience, aside from the standard 2-megapixel CMOS camera and microSD card slot.

Recent Problem - Late of Working ; and SSHK Check-In

Recently, I received quite a lot of complains from dealers. They expressed that our promoters were late in the shop and roadshow duties.

It is not only a problem of AV team, but also a problem of PV's & VAIO's.

In AV session, at this moment, Rules and regulation will not carried out temporarily because it will occur extract operation for 3rd parties (e.g. dealers, agent company). That is want I don't want.

Another reason is that the "Rules of Meeting & Training" has just been announced in E/Dec. I want to focus on this long term and more important issue. But I will give personal warning to whom were late.

So,
Self-Control is essential,
or new regulation will force to you...

However, please be notice the following actions will be taken in SSHK/MK:

1. Check In

Before Check In, please dress up tidy uniform.
  • BRAVIA Theatre Jacket
  • No Earring
  • Black pants
  • Sneakers (w/ simple color)
You will need to fill-in a Check in Form and inform the Person-in-Charge (AV: Jancy).

2. Sick leave

Please contact SSHK staff Ah Son in advance, and contact me too.

Effective immediately.

Monthly Meeting for AV Session

Recently, Our overall of attendance rate of meeting/training is going down.
Overall Attendance Rate = Total Attendants / Total Headcount
As I said many times before, monthly meeting is main platform for us to exchange information. It is very important for whole promoter system.

To rise the rate, we have 2 factors to consider, (1) more attendants; (2) less headcount relative to shop front demand. For the coming months, I will maintain these 2 factors to achieve higher attendance rate.

On the other hand, it is risky for promoter to leave their time sheet and other related documents to other person. I would like to restrict the submission of these documents in person.

Push (by rule/restriction) or pull (by motivation/incentive), sometimes they are difficult for a supervisor to choose. In the situation of going worse, pushing policy is more effective for persons who do not make things done!! However, I understand that it is sometimes quite tough for others who work out their job wonderful.

Thank you for Your Efforts in Sony Fair

Dear all whom worked in Sony Fair,

It is a wonderful Sony Fair for me in this year, because my promoters worked great. This year, same as last one, I need to handle 2 areas of 3. It was quite tough in planning process. But the operation becomes smooth on-site, because my staff made things done very well.

I would like to thank you for your efforts in Sony Fair. I'm highly appreciated in your performance and working attitude. In the show, you were able to promote our products (BRAVIA, Hi-Fi, Walkman, PS3, HD products, etc.), and make our customers happy.

Especially thanks to the following people:
  • Alex, bringing me the great staffs, and take my phone call at mid-night :-p
  • Wing Cheung, handling all rounds of operation issues. Fight for promoters' benefits motivate people a lot. His heart is full of Sony!
  • Sue, the future of wonderful leader in any company. Creative work flow comes from him. His heart is full of Sony too!
  • Kenneth, always complete the jobs accrually. Fast action from commands bring effective work flow. Again, his heart is full of Sony.
*** Remember, as a manager, things to do is: Motivating people, managing resources in details, choose right persons to do the jobs, and keep looking at the changing factors. ***

To whom you worked on-time, were active to promote to customers, and stood straight in the show all the time (it's important, in fact). Look back and think: What and why we did, e.g. why do I choose these 3 coordinators rather than others, what did I say to affect other people's being/thinking (motivation or depress others). It can help you in future.

To whom you were not as above, learn from them. I believe you are basically good in quality. I cannot speak to you one by one, but you showed your value in the show.

I would welcome you to join Sony. Kindly ask your Alex (RMC) or your supervisor for further arrangements.

All the success belongs to you. And thank you again.

Best Regards,

Eddy

Cars (反斗車王) CTV : Lo-Tech Cutie Television

See this from Chung Yuen Roadshow. In function wise it is a CRT with DVD combo, but it is incorprate with the theme of movie "Cars (反斗車王)". Interesting, right?

You can see that the CRT is very low-end in view of technology. It is not a flat CRT!! However, the company pull costs on extra things, e.g. branding, design, theme, etc. Lo-tech can re-burn!!

It's all about marketing...
